Die Fachärztin der Augenheilkunde und Augenchirurgie hat im Jahre 2008 erfolgreich die europäische Spezialisierungsprüfung der Ophthalmologie in Paris bestanden. Mit ihrer Arbeit als Ophthalmologin begann sie unter der Betreuung von Dr. Vladimir Pfeifer an der Augenklinik in Ljubljana. Angefangen im Jahre 2009 hat sie unter der Betreuung von Prof. Dr. Oliver Findl und Prof. Dr. Bruce Allan im Moorfields Eye Hospital in London gearbeitet, zwischen 2012 und 2015 war sie in der Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary und in Schepens Eye Research Institute angestellt, einer Augenklinik und einem Forschungsinstitut für Augenerkrankungen, die unter der Schirmherrschaft der Harvard Universität in Boston (USA) stehen. In Boston waren ihre Mentoren der Gründer der ersten Abteilung für Hornhauterkrankungen der Welt, Prof. Dr. Claes H. Dohlman, und der führende Forscher im Bereich des trockenen Auges und der Transplantation der Hornhaut, Prof. Dr. Reza Dana. Beide Krankenhäuser gehören zu den besten Augenkliniken der Welt, wo Ophthalmologen aus der ganzen Welt arbeiten und sich weiterbilden. Parallel zu Augenoperationen hat sie ohne Unterbrechung an ihren Forschungs – und Ambulanzarbeiten im Bereich des vorderen Augensegments weitergearbeitet. Im Augenchirurgischen Zentrum Dr. Pfeifer führt sie mittlerweile Operationen im Bereich des vorderen Augensegments durch, insbesondere Operationen des Grauen Stars, wirkt bei Forschungsarbeiten mit und besucht aktiv ophthalmologische Kongresse im In- und Ausland.
