Specialista in oftalmologia chirurgica, nel 2008 ha superato l’esame specialistico europeo di oftalmologia a Parigi. Ha iniziato a lavorare come oftalmologa sotto la supervisione del Dottor Vladimir Pfeifer presso la Clinica Oftalmologica di Lubiana. Nel 2009 ha lavorato presso l’ospedale Moorfields Eye Hospital di Londra sotto la supervisione del Professor Oliver Findl e del Professor Bruce Allan. Negli anni 2012–2015 ha lavorato presso il Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary e allo Schepens Eye Research Institute, l’Ospedale Oftalmologico e Istituto di ricerca per le malattie degli occhi nell’ambito dell’Università di Harvard a Boston (Stati Uniti). A Boston, i suoi mentori erano il fondatore del Primo dipartimento del mondo per le malattie della cornea, il Professor Claes H. Dohlman, ed il capo delle ricerche sull’occhio secco e sulla cheratoplastica, il Professor Reza Dana. Entrambi gli ospedali sono tra i migliori ospedali oftalmologici mondiali dove lavorano e fanno formazione oftalmologi di tutto il mondo. Oltre che occuparsi di chirurgia oftalmica ha sempre effettuato anche ricerche e lavoro clinico nell’ambito del segmento anteriore dell’occhio. Attualmente effettua operazioni nella zona di segmento anteriore dell’occhio presso il Centro di Chirurgia Oculistica Dott. Pfeifer, si dedica principalmente agli interventi di cataratta, è coinvolta nel lavoro di ricerca e partecipa regolarmente ed attivamente ai congressi oftalmologici in patria e all’estero.
